Mallorca and the other islands in Spain’s Balearic archipelago register 733 recreational boats from January to September 2026, more than any other Spanish region. That gives the islands 15.8% of the national market. The figures come from a report by the Spanish National Association of Nautical Companies, based on records from the Directorate-General of the Merchant Marine.

The Balearics also lead Spain for charter boat registrations, with 353 — a 24.5% share of that market. The report does not give a separate figure for Mallorca.

Across Spain, recreational boat registrations reach 4,642 in the first nine months of 2026, up 7% on the same period in 2025. Motorboats account for 2,004 registrations, a rise of 16.2%. Boats up to 6 metres long still make up the largest share, at 67.8%.

The charter market records 1,440 registrations nationwide from January to September, up 8.1% on the same period last year. It remains 12.9% below its 2024 level.
