Ibiza bottle and scissors fight: two arrested

Ibiza, Spain: two men are under arrest on suspicion of attempted murder after a fight involving a glass bottle and scissors leaves both seriously injured last week. An off-duty officer spots one of them bleeding and calling for help as he heads to a nearby restaurant. He calls 091, and officers find the other man shortly afterwards, Spain’s National Police say.

One man says the other smashed a glass bottle on his head and cut him several times. The second says he was attacked with scissors, leaving cuts to his back, arm and stomach. Police say the row began over problems living together in a squatted property. The men also threatened to kill each other in front of officers.

Paramedics treat both men before they are taken to Can Misses Hospital because of the severity of their injuries. Investigators at Ibiza police station are working to establish exactly what happened.
