Eight women walk La Travessa in the Serra de Tramuntana on Mallorca, talking about how breast cancer has changed their lives. The documentary Sacar Pecho follows them on the route and screens at 17.00 on Tuesday at the Sala Albert Camus in Sant Lluís, Menorca. After the film, the women will join a discussion with surgeon Valerio Corazza and members of the ALBA association.

Along the way, the women talk about the emotional impact of diagnosis, changes in their lives and the support they give one another. Journalists Mar Comín, Mar Puigserver and Virginia Galiano created the film, which Rubén Capilla and Álex Rodríguez directed.

The Island Council of Menorca has organised the screening and discussion to bring different experiences of breast cancer into view. It says the conversation will offer a chance to explore the film’s themes and the importance of emotional and social support during the illness.
