Mallorca: man hit with brick after €45 knife threat

Two women were arrested in Palma, Mallorca, early on Saturday after a man told police they had forced him to hand over €45 at knifepoint before one allegedly hit him in the head with a brick. The man spotted the pair near Calle Manuel Azaña and called police. National Police say he suffered minor injuries in the alleged attack, which followed a sexual encounter in mid-August with one of the women.

According to the man's account, he went to the woman's home after arranging to meet her. The second woman was already there as a companion and waited in the living room while he had sex with the first woman.

He said that, afterwards, the three were in the living room when the women began demanding money for the encounter. One allegedly pulled a large knife from her handbag and threatened him.

Police say the man went with the women to a nearby cash machine, withdrew €45 and gave it to them because he feared the threats would be carried out. Before the pair left, one of them allegedly picked up a brick from the ground and threw it at his head.

Officers said both women acknowledged knowing the man and said he had had sex with one of them. They were arrested on suspicion of violent robbery and taking the law into their own hands, then taken to a police station.
