British tourist, 81, drowns at Ibiza's s'Arenal Gros

An 81-year-old British tourist drowns at s'Arenal Gros beach in Sant Joan de Labritja, Ibiza, on Tuesday, 29 September. Lifeguards are first to try to revive her, according to Sant Joan de Labritja Town Council. A doctor, a nurse and a firefighter who are nearby join them.
The three continue basic resuscitation for 25 minutes. Emergency medical service SAMU 061 then arrives and continues advanced resuscitation for another half-hour. Medics confirm the woman's death at 17.30. A Civil Guard patrol arrives at around 18.00 to take charge of the remaining procedures.
