Responsible for this content: Frank Menze
Palma, Mallorca: a burst pipe forces the evacuation of the Hotel Santa Clara in the old town early on Friday, 23 October. The leak is on the second floor of the hotel on Sant Alonso street. At about 04.00, Palma firefighters alert the Local Police to the problem.
Water could seep into the basement, where the hotel keeps its electrical equipment. That risk prompts the evacuation. Police report only property damage, and firefighters and police close the incident at around 05.30.
