Cala Galdana parking set for €627,792 upgrade
The Serpentona public car park in Cala Galdana, Menorca, is set for a €627,792 upgrade after the Island Council of Menorca approved an agreement with Ciutadella Town Council on 22 September. The plan reshapes the poorly maintained site, adds parking spaces and includes three bus stops. It is intended to improve mobility and road safety.
Summer parking pressure
Cala Galdana draws high visitor numbers during the tourist season, bringing greater demand for parking, according to mobility councillor Juan Manuel Delgado. He said the work is needed to make getting around the area more sustainable, safer and better organised.
A project brought back
The scheme has been waiting for years. Earlier agreements from 2021 and 2023 expired without extensions, and the work never went ahead.
The Island Council of Menorca will pay from its own funds. Delgado said the new backing gives the project the final push needed for the work to be carried out.
