Canary airport fees stay near frozen with 0.3 rise

Airport fees in the Canary Islands are set to rise by just 0.3 under DORA III, the airport regulation plan approved by the Cabinet on Tuesday. Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory Minister Ángel Víctor Torres highlighted the move on Wednesday, 16 September 2026. It comes after airport operator Aena had sought an increase of 14 euros.

The plan includes €1,800 million for modernising the Canary Islands’ airports. Torres said the tourism sector had welcomed the near-freeze in charges.

DORA III also allows for possible investment in airport stations on Gran Canaria and at Tenerife South. That depends on how rail projects on the two islands progress and whether they are declared to be of general interest.
