Mallorca cancer deal backs prevention and research
Mallorca’s cancer prevention efforts get a joint push: health researchers and a cancer charity sign an agreement in Palma, Mallorca, on Monday. They plan to promote healthy habits, make the charity’s services better known and share research with patients and the public.
The Balearic Islands Health Research Institute (IdISBa) and the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in the Balearics say they will work together on cancer awareness and support for people affected by the disease. IdISBa’s manager, Carlos Enrique, and the charity’s Balearic president, José Reyes, signed the agreement at the institute’s headquarters.
Their plans include information events, talks and meetings for professionals and the public. The organisations also intend to promote IdISBa’s studies and research projects, and make progress from that work more visible across the islands.
