Mallorca homes: Palma clears 62 price-capped flats
Palma clears the way for 62 price-capped flats in l’Olivera on Tuesday, 15 September. The new multi-flat building is planned for Carrer de Pompeu Fabra 23 and 25, and Carrer d’Ignasi Ferretjans 23.
City Hall says the building licence was processed in 50 days. That included August, when no Urban Planning Management Council meeting was held.
The application was checked in advance by urban planning collaboration bodies, known as ECUs. These are accredited technical organisations registered in Palma which examine plans for compliance with planning rules before the city makes its final decision.
Palma says the arrangement can cut waiting times to between one and three months, while the council remains responsible for granting licences. It has speeded up 15 licences so far, with another 10 still being processed.
