Mallorca car theft: two arrests in Pont d’Inca

Two young people have been arrested after a car theft from the private car park of a block of flats in Pont d’Inca, Mallorca. The car was taken on the afternoon of 16 September, and Guardia Civil officers stopped it in the same area at about 18.00 the following day. A 19-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were detained.

The Guardia Civil says the pair entered the building and looked over vehicles in the car park. One car was unlocked, officers said. Inside, they allegedly found a second key, started the car and drove away.

Its owner reported the theft. When a patrol spotted the car the next day, it alerted another unit, which stopped it.

Officers found that the driver had never obtained a driving licence. The car also had several dents and other damage along its right-hand side.

The two are suspected of taking a vehicle for use, while the driver also faces an allegation of driving without ever having held a licence. The car has been returned to its owner.
