Mallorca, in Spain’s Balearic Islands, is covered by a care agreement backed by two pledges of 20.3 million euros for 2026. The deal aims to cut the region’s waiting list for care support. The Balearic government authorised it on Friday, 23 October 2026, with Spain’s Institute for Older People and Social Services (Imserso).

Each side has pledged 20.3 million euros towards the agreed level of care support. The agreement sets out their responsibilities and also aims to improve services and working conditions for staff in the care support system, formally known as the System for Autonomy and Care for Dependent People (SAAD). Balearic government spokesperson Antoni Costa outlined the goals at a press conference in Palma, on Mallorca.
