Mallorca and the other Balearic Islands: staff at 25 care homes can now share electronic health records for 1,892 people who need care. Care home workers and staff at the Balearic Health Service (IBSalut) can see new information as soon as it is entered, the Balearic Islands health department said on 2 October 2026. The project, called IoREs, has also won a 2026 Ennova Health award for digital transformation.

The shared records bring medical tests, hospital admission reports, consultation and follow-up notes, care needs and prescribed medicines into one view. To make that possible, the project connects care home systems with those used by the health service.

The project is being rolled out across all the islands. More homes will be added gradually, with the aim of reaching all 43 centres in the public care network, which have 3,567 places in total. IoREs has a budget of 1.5 million euros. Health service representatives collected the award in Madrid.
