Mallorca keeps 145 support places for care leavers
Mallorca will keep 145 support places for young adults leaving administrative care from 1 November 2026. The Balearic Government has approved up to €1.14 million to extend the service until 31 October 2028. It is run by the Grupo de Educadores de Calle y Trabajo con Menores (GREC).
The places are for 18- to 25-year-olds who were previously under the administration’s care or guardianship. They offer support as they move towards independent adult life.
Family and Social Welfare Minister Sandra Fernández said the service is aimed at young people without family support who face a risk of social exclusion. They cannot return to their immediate family, have progressed well through the protection system and must be ready to take on personal independence.
