Ibiza court orders immediate eviction at Casa Lola

Casa Lola in Sant Josep, Ibiza, faces an immediate eviction order: dozens of people are believed to have lived at the property for months. The owner’s lawyers announced the ruling on 30 September. The order comes from Eivissa Court of Investigation No. 2, but the eviction has not yet taken place.

The owner, Inversiones Hoteleras Faro, reported the alleged unlawful occupation on 2 July and asked the court to order an immediate eviction. Its lawyers said the request reflected risks to people at the property, neighbours and the environment. They also reported violent incidents, assaults and fires in recent months. A 48-year-old man recently died in a fire in one of the makeshift homes on the site.

The owner says it will work with the Civil Guard and Sant Josep local police to organise the eviction. Its lawyers want the order carried out as soon as possible, but have given no date for when people must leave Casa Lola.
