Magaluf hosts its first charity run for children with cancer and their families on 15 November. The Fundación Marco Asensio event takes place at the Magaluf-Joan Munar Martínez athletics track in Magaluf, Mallorca. People of any age or fitness level can choose how they take part.

The foundation has invited runners, families, volunteers and anyone else who wants to support the cause. Calvià Town Hall says the whole event is organised as a fundraiser.

Timed races, a walk and a family run

Runners can enter timed 10km or 5km races, both on circular routes. Each includes refreshments and a commemorative T-shirt.

A separate 5km walk carries the message, “Walking is also taking part”. It is not timed, follows a circular route and welcomes pets; refreshments await at the finish, along with an event T-shirt.

The 1km family run is aimed at younger children and is not timed. Children who take part receive a finisher medal, commemorative T-shirt and a white race number to personalise. An adult accompanying a child does not receive a race number or T-shirt through the child’s entry.

More than the track

The programme also includes Zumba, organised sports activities, food trucks, music and special guests. The activities run alongside the races throughout the day.
