Balearics: 201 child-to-parent violence cases opened
Mallorca is part of Spain’s Balearic Islands, where youth prosecutors opened 201 proceedings in 2025 over violence by minors towards their parents. Fundación Amigó warns that many more families never report what happens at home. It gives no separate figure for Mallorca.
Fewer reports do not mean less violence
Across Spain, prosecutors opened 4,038 such files in 2025, down 10.7% on 2024 and the lowest figure in recent years. Fundación Amigó calls the fall encouraging but says it may not reflect a matching drop in violence. It estimates that only 10% to 15% of cases are reported.
Families seek help after violence escalates
Families often ask for support only when life at home has become badly strained, the organisation says. By then, the violence can include insults, threats or physical attacks. It has also seen more disputes in recent years over screen use and limits on access.
Fundación Amigó’s nine Conviviendo projects helped nearly 1,000 people from around 350 families in 2025. The organisation wants specialist help to be easier to reach before conflicts grow worse.
