Mallorca debate tackles China's rise and Europe's economy

Mallorca hosts a debate on China's rise and Europe's economy on Thursday, 8 October: Spanish ambassador Rafael Dezcallar and former labour minister Manuel Pimentel speak at the Hotel Barceló Illetas Albatros. The Diálogos para el Desarrollo event starts at 13.00, the organisers say.

Dezcallar will examine how China's growing weight is changing the balance of power and relations between countries. Pimentel will look at Europe's economic prospects, including the role of agricultural policy and innovation.

After their talks, the two will discuss economic developments and challenges facing Spain and Europe. Those attending can put questions to them over lunch.
