Mallorca and the rest of the Balearic Islands are forecast to spend €42.23 per person on the 2026 Christmas lottery, well below Spain’s €76.49 average. The figures, available on 6 November from state lottery operator Loterías y Apuestas del Estado, reflect tickets sent to sellers rather than tickets bought. The draw takes place at Madrid’s Teatro Real on 22 December.

Unsold tickets could change the figure

The operator has allocated tickets worth €52,255,800 to the Balearic Islands. That puts the islands among the regions with the lowest allocations per person, ahead of only Melilla and Ceuta. The final sales figure will not be known until sellers return their unsold tickets.

The prizes at stake

The Christmas draw will award €2,870 million in prizes, €98 million more than last year. Some 205 million tickets have been put on sale. The top prize, known as El Gordo, pays €400,000 per ticket.
