Mallorca church helps 92,822 people in 139 centres
On the Spanish island of Mallorca, the church says its 139 social care centres helped 92,822 people in 2025. They included 7,871 people living in poverty, 4,829 migrants, refugees or displaced people, and 2,867 women or victims of violence. The Diocese of Mallorca released the figures on Wednesday, 4 November.
Help beyond the centres
Cáritas Mallorca supported 10,187 people with the help of 805 volunteers. Manos Unidas ran two aid projects that benefited 10,080 people.
The church’s work also reaches classrooms. Its 75 state-funded religious schools taught 31,515 pupils, while 13 state-funded diocesan schools taught another 8,500.
Across Mallorca’s 154 parishes and eight monasteries, 550 catechists helped teach the Christian faith. The church recorded 1,863 baptisms and 481 marriages last year. It also carried out 14 building and renovation projects and restored 33 movable objects.
What Sunday’s collection will fund
This Sunday, the diocese marks Diocesan Church Day, a chance to learn about its work. Money collected during services will go to the day’s campaign, supporting the church’s pastoral, social, educational and cultural work on Mallorca.
