Ciutadella councillor ejected from council meeting

Maite de Medrano was ejected from Ciutadella’s municipal council meeting on Menorca on Thursday. The independent councillor, formerly a Vox member, was removed from the chamber during the session.

On Friday, the PSOE branch in Ciutadella said the incident showed a lack of respect for the council as an institution. The party said her conduct was not isolated but had been repeated from meeting to meeting, and should not be treated as normal.

The council deserved the respect due to a municipal institution, PSOE said, adding that this way of acting caused considerable harm to it.
