Ciutadella, Menorca, wants to keep its Tita Llorens indoor pool running when the current operating contract ends on 30 October 2027. The council is preparing a new tender so people can continue to use the pool, take part in water activities and use its fitness room without a break.

On Wednesday, 21 October 2026, the local government board is due to consider paying 3 POC Consulting SL 7,986 euros to prepare an economic viability study and the technical and administrative documents for the tender. The company would have four months to do the work. A council report rates its offer the most economically advantageous of those submitted.

The council wants the study and tender documents approved before March 2027, leaving time to award the contract before the current one expires. It aims for the operator taking on the contract to run the pool from 1 November 2027. The service will remain in the hands of a specialist company: the council says it does not currently have enough staff to run the facilities itself.
