Ciutadella mayor faces election complaint over six posts
Six council posts about projects and investments spark an election complaint in Ciutadella, Menorca: the People’s Party (PP) accuses mayor María Jesús Bagur of using public channels to promote her administration. The party filed its complaint with the Electoral Board on 20 October 2026.
The six posts appeared on the council website and were shared on its official Instagram and Facebook accounts. The PP says publishing them during an election period breaks the rules on political neutrality for public bodies.
Cristóbal Marqués, the PP’s president in Menorca, says Ciutadella council must answer to the Electoral Board over its use of those channels. No decision by the board is reported.
