Balearic clusters get 349.257,08 euros up front
Business clusters in the Balearic Islands have received 349.257,08 euros in advance for 2026. Antoni Costa, the regional vice-president and economy, finance and innovation minister, confirmed the payment on Tuesday at a meeting with the archipelago’s clusters. The Balearic Government’s Directorate General for Innovation and Digital Transformation made the payment.
The money is for innovative business clusters, which bring companies together around a shared field. The 2026-2027 funding call has a budget of 1,81 million euros and, for the first time, allows the full 100% of a grant to be paid in advance. The government says this is intended to get support to the groups faster and strengthen their ability to invest in resources and staff over the medium term.
Who receives the money
CliQIB, the Balearic chemical industry cluster, receives 65.612,43 euros. The biotechnology and biomedical cluster BIOIB gets 85.465 euros, while Turistec receives 55.261,75 euros.
The Balearic Marine Cluster has been paid 60.191,78 euros. TEIB, the Balearic ecological transition cluster, receives 56.686,51 euros, and construction innovation cluster Construlab 360 gets 26.039,61 euros.
Costa said funding for innovative business clusters has risen by nearly 300% since 2023. The latest cluster funding call was approved by the Consell de Govern on 12 June.
The government has also brought back Turboconvo innovation support for small and medium-sized businesses after it had not been called since 2018. Its budget rose from 3,7 million euros to 8,3 million euros.
