Construction and property lead the figures

Construction and property account for 20 formal insolvency cases and 271 company dissolutions, the highest totals in both categories. Trade follows with 15 cases and 128 dissolutions. Hospitality records 13 cases, while business services accounts for 110 dissolutions.

Of the 86 proceedings, 83 are formal insolvency cases, down 17% on a year earlier. The remaining three comprise two restructuring plans, the same number as last year, and one special procedure for a microbusiness, down from seven.

A different picture across Spain

Across Spain, Informa D&B counts 4,699 insolvency-related proceedings in the same nine months, down 2%. Company dissolutions rise 10% to 22,701. The Balearic Islands therefore see a sharper fall in proceedings and none of the nationwide rise in dissolutions.
