Mallorca: 58 council HR officers tackle mass retirement
Mallorca’s town halls have 58 human resources officers in training on Thursday, 5 November, with mass retirement on the agenda. They meet at the hall of the Federation of Local Authorities (Felib) for sessions that continue on Friday.
The Mallorca Island Council says the course covers workforce planning and the list of council posts. Each session ends with a discussion of how large-scale retirements could affect local administration and how small and medium-sized municipalities manage their staff.
Pilar Amate, the island council member responsible for economic promotion and local development, opened the training on Thursday. The two days are part of a training cycle for local government staff and elected officials that includes seven in-person sessions in all.
