Urgent COVID vaccine tender covers Mallorca for 2027
Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands, is covered by an urgent COVID-19 vaccine tender for autumn 2027: suppliers have until 30 October 2026 to bid. The Balearic Islands have joined an agreement under which the National Institute for Health Management will select suppliers and set maximum prices. The institute says the urgent process aims to secure enough doses for the autumn vaccination campaign.
The tender seeks three types of vaccine: messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines for people aged 12 and over, mRNA vaccines for children aged six months to 11 years, and protein-based vaccines made using recombinant proteins. All must meet the tender’s technical requirements and follow recommendations from the European Medicines Agency’s Emergency Task Force and public health authorities.
The agreement will run for 12 months from the date it is signed. It can be extended twice, for up to 12 months each time.
