Mallorca and the rest of Spain’s Balearic Islands account for 6,675 applications for a €400 youth culture voucher, which remains available until Saturday. Spain’s Ministry of Culture reported the figure on Friday 30 October. Young people who receive the voucher can use it for cultural activities and products over one year.

What the voucher covers

The Bono Cultural Joven, or youth culture voucher, comes as a prepaid card on a phone or as a physical card sent to the recipient’s home.

One option splits the €400 into three parts: up to €200 for live performances, cultural heritage, audiovisual activities and creative materials; €100 for physical products such as books, magazines and records; and €100 for digital purchases and subscriptions. Alternatively, recipients can put the full amount towards one category, such as cultural courses or musical instruments.

Applications across Spain

The Balearic applications make up 1.8% of the 366,256 submitted across Spain this year. Andalusia has the most, with 72,345.

For those who have yet to apply, the voucher remains available until Saturday.
