Mallorca doubles mental health support places to 22

Fundació Deixalles in the Son Bugadelles industrial estate in Calvià will have 22 places in 2027 for people with disabilities linked to a mental health diagnosis. That is double the 11 places available in 2026. The Consell de Mallorca announced the increase on 17 September during a visit to the foundation’s new premises.

The service provides tailored support to help people build personal and social independence, take part in community life and move towards work.

The Institut Mallorquí d’Afers Socials (IMAS) also works with Deixalles on social and employment inclusion. People using the IMAS Social Inclusion Network can take part in activities and workshops covering skills, training and preparation for entering the job market.

Individual programmes also work on job habits, personal and social skills, and the abilities needed to progress towards employment.
