Balearics launch seven digital courses for jobs

Seven digital courses on cyber security, artificial intelligence and job hunting are running for workers, jobseekers and businesses in the Balearics from September to November. The first in-person cyber security workshop was held on Monday, with an online seminar on the same subject due on Wednesday.

The ADN Digital programme is run by the SOIB Centre for Guidance, Entrepreneurship, Support and Innovation for Employment. It is aimed at people in work, those seeking work, entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses.

The courses cover artificial intelligence (AI), automating tasks, data protection and digital marketing. On 21 October, an in-person workshop will look at using AI to make work more efficient. The subject will also be covered in an online session.

A practical in-person course on web design and digital marketing is scheduled from 16 to 20 November. AI-assisted job hunting follows on 24 November, with an online seminar on the same topic on 26 November.

SOIB director María Luján Olivera said the biggest change ahead would be in daily tasks and ways of working. She said the employment service must adapt its training programmes to the labour market’s new needs so workers can gain the digital skills they need.
