Mallorca’s Dino Minigolf closes; public park planned

After more than 30 years, Dino Minigolf at Playa de Palma, Mallorca, closes on Sunday, 25 October. Palma City Council has ended its concession and is taking back the site. Operator Amrum Beach Club says it will hand over the keys on Tuesday, even though its court case remains open.

Keys handed back, court case still open

Amrum Beach Club has asked an administrative court to extend the concession because the minigolf had to close for a period under measures taken during the health crisis. It will hand over the site without waiting for a ruling, while continuing its case.

The company says it will arrange for most staff contracts to pass to other businesses in its group. It also says it will pay its suppliers.

A park planned for the site

In May, Palma City Council’s governing board approved an initial plan to turn the minigolf site into a public green space of around 35,000 square metres. The planned park would be accessible throughout the year and connect with Parc del Llaüt, another green space used for physical activity.
