Mallorca’s Fergus takes over Catalonia’s 795-room hotel

Mallorca-based Fergus Group is now running the Don Juan Resort Affiliated by Fergus in Lloret de Mar, Girona, a 795-room complex described as Catalonia’s largest hotel by accommodation capacity. The new management deal puts the Balearic company in charge immediately. The building’s owner has replaced the previous operator.

The two sides are planning a long-term partnership to keep the resort’s business plan on track. The owner said Fergus had the operational strength needed for the property’s next phase.

The deal gives Fergus a bigger foothold in Catalonia, where it already manages six operating hotels with more than 2,100 rooms between them. A five-star Fergus Style Port Ginesta project in Sitges is due to open in 2028.

Founder and executive chairman Pep Cañellas said the group is focused on repositioning hotel assets and raising the quality of established holiday destinations. Fergus is continuing to pursue long-term management agreements as part of its growth plan in Spain.
