Palma drink-drive crash flips car onto its side
Palma, Mallorca: A 33-year-old woman escapes injury when her car hits a parked vehicle and flips onto its side on Bonaire Street at about 2am last Friday. A breath test later records 0.71 milligrams of alcohol per litre of air — almost three times the permitted limit.
Palma Local Police say the woman was driving along a straight stretch when her car veered right into the parked vehicle. The impact turned her car over, leaving it on its left side.
Both cars suffered damage to their chassis, bodywork and bumpers. Windows and mirrors broke, and a tyre on the parked car burst. The alcohol reading also exceeds the threshold for a criminal offence. Police are investigating the woman on suspicion of a road-safety offence.
