Mallorca: A 51-year-old woman sets off a suspected drink-driving crash in Palma on Tuesday that damages four parked cars and blocks the road. No one is hurt. Palma Local Police say it happens at about 15.50 at the junction of Son Peretó and Son Llull streets.

The woman turns left into Son Llull and veers into two cars parked on the left, according to police and witnesses. Her car then swings right and hits a third parked car, pushing it into a fourth. Her own car comes to a stop in the middle of the street.

A caller alerts police to a driver who appears drunk. Officers find signs that the woman has been drinking, and a breath test records 1.14 mg/l of exhaled air — nearly five times the permitted limit and above the threshold for a criminal offence.

Police are investigating the woman over the alcohol reading and have also reported her for negligent driving. A municipal tow truck takes her car to the Sa Riera depot. Police send the case to the duty investigating court.
