Ibiza drone helps find 17 migrants after boat alert

A Local Police drone helped find 17 migrants near Cap des Falcó, in the south of the municipality of Sant Josep on Ibiza, after an alert over a boat’s arrival.
Police received the 112 emergency call at about 21.50 on Wednesday and immediately launched a search operation. It ended with the group being located.
Sant Josep Local Police said its drone team supports searches for people from the air, giving teams on the ground an overhead view.
Officers are identifying and assisting the people found alongside the Guardia Civil. They will then be handed to the National Police, which handles proceedings into the circumstances of their illegal entry into Spain.
