Palma drug arrests: four men held across three areas
Palma, Mallorca: Police arrest four men in three separate suspected drug-dealing incidents on Sunday. The first arrest comes at about 5.30am in La Soledad, where two men head off in different directions when they spot officers. Further arrests follow in Es Puntiró and Son Forteza, Spain’s National Police say.
A suspected exchange in La Soledad
Officers saw the two men holding something and believed they were about to make an exchange. The suspected seller had four small bags of the drug tusi, a piece of hashish, a piece of marijuana and 20 euros. The other man had one dose of tusi that police said matched the suspected seller’s. Officers arrested the suspected seller.
Three more arrests across Palma
About three hours later, a call to the police number 091 sent officers to Es Puntiró. The caller reported that two people wanted to attack someone over a drug-dealing dispute. Officers stopped a car carrying two men and two women after its occupants tried to get away. They found tusi on both men and cash in different notes on one of them. The women also had cash in different notes. Police arrested the two men.
On Sunday afternoon in Son Forteza, motorcycle officers searched one man in a group of three after he appeared nervous at the sight of their blue light. They found eight single doses of tusi, five of cocaine, thirteen tablets suspected to be MDMA and 80 euros. He was arrested. Police say complaints from local people have led them to step up checks and patrols across Palma.
