Mallorca drug check: Man kicks at police in Sóller

Mallorca: A drug check near an illegal after-party in Sóller ends with a man under arrest after he kicks and swings at two officers who ask for his ID on Saturday. The Spanish National Police report the arrest on Tuesday.

Officers had gone to the area after neighbours complained and large numbers of young people gathered over the weekend. Outside the house where the party was being held, they spotted a stopped car with its rear hatch open. A man was sitting in the driver’s seat. Police say he hid a small clear bag when he saw them and was taking drugs inside the car.

Asked to identify himself, the man said he was on private property and could take whatever he wanted. He continued to refuse, then threw the bag, which police say contained drugs, towards the officers. When they tried to get him out of the car, he kicked and swung at them. Officers restrained him and took him to a police station on suspicion of assaulting officers.
