2027 eclipse: Málaga hotel searches jump 40%
Málaga accommodation searches for the 2027 solar eclipse are up 40% among Spanish travellers and 35% among international travellers. Booking.com published the figures on 14 September 2026. The eclipse will be especially visible from a southern strip of the Iberian Peninsula, driving early interest in Andalusian destinations.
The UK is the leading overseas market searching for stays in Málaga, ahead of Italy and Poland. Couples are behind the sharpest rise in Málaga, with searches up 46%, followed by families at 28%, travel groups at 22% and solo travellers at 10.4%.
In the province of Cádiz, Spanish travellers account for 74% of searches, compared with 26% from international users. The UK also leads foreign demand there, ahead of Portugal and France. Couples make up about 50% of Cádiz's international searches, followed by families at 28%, groups at 15% and solo travellers at 7%.
