Planned price-controlled homes on Isidor Macabich Avenue in Eivissa, Ibiza, are badly behind schedule, the Socialist opposition says. At a debate on the state of the municipality on Wednesday, 21 October 2026, Socialist Party (PSOE) spokesman Rafa Ruiz blamed Mayor Rafael Triguero. He accused him of putting publicity and announcements ahead of solving the city’s problems.

Ruiz said house prices had risen during Triguero’s term. After three years of People’s Party (PP) government, he said, promises remained unfulfilled and disputes in neighbourhoods unresolved. The PSOE also accused the mayor of taking credit for projects run by other administrations.

Street cleaning was another target. Ruiz said Triguero had made it an election pledge, yet complaints from residents and unresolved problems continued. On the planned E-10 road overhaul, Ruiz argued that announcing work was not the same as doing it. According to the PSOE, a new street-cleaning contract will not arrive until early 2028.
