Eivissa, the capital of Ibiza, wants visitors beyond summer: its city council presents a new tourism campaign at the World Travel Market in London on 3 November. It is aimed at travellers who know the island but may have more to discover in its capital.

A different side of Ibiza

A promotional video puts Eivissa’s identity in the spotlight. The council wants people to look beyond Ibiza’s familiar image of beaches and summer leisure to the city’s history, traditions and food. Tourism councillor Rubén Sousa says life in Eivissa continues throughout the year.

Congresses and celebrations, too

The council is also promoting Eivissa as a place for meetings, congresses and other professional events, as well as weddings and celebrations. It says the city’s hotels, food, shops, culture and historic sites offer reasons to visit outside the peak season.

Sousa says the aim is to bring economic activity beyond summer while respecting the city’s identity and ensuring tourism benefits its residents.
