Palma election draw: 3,924 roles, new venues
Palma, Mallorca, needs people to fill 3,924 compulsory polling-table roles for the general election on 29 November. On Tuesday, 3 November, the city drew names for 436 tables across 79 polling venues. The draw sets the order in which voters will be appointed to run each table.
Palma City Council held the draw at a special meeting. The electoral register has 6,687 more voters than at the 2023 general election.
Polling venues change
The six tables previously at Sant Francesc d'Assís will move to Casal de Barri Pere Garau, bringing that venue's total to nine. Casal de Barri Son Ferriol will replace CEIP Son Ferriol as a polling venue and host 13 tables.
Building work at CEIP Felip Bauçà means its six tables will move to CEIP Tramuntana. Voters can enter their DNI number on the city council website to check their polling venue.
Who can turn down a polling role
Voters aged 18 or over and under 70 can be appointed to a polling table. The role is compulsory, but anyone aged 65 or over can decline within seven days of being notified. The local electoral board will accept that refusal automatically.
Anyone else with a justified reason for not serving must provide supporting documents within seven working days of notification. They can submit their objection to the local electoral board in person at its Vía Alemania offices or electronically.
