Palma on Mallorca tops Spain for electric car sales: it records 488.6 new electric car registrations per 100,000 drivers, a Carwow study finds. The figures, reported on 1 October, put electric cars’ market share in the city at 12.9%.

Valencia follows with 462.2 registrations per 100,000 drivers and a 10.9% market share. Pamplona records 406.1 registrations per 100,000 drivers, but has the highest electric car market share among the major cities at 19.8%. Guadalajara comes next with 399.1 registrations per 100,000 drivers, followed by Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with 379.1.

The study also points to savings buyers could miss. Only 21% of people surveyed understand the terms and incentives of Plan Auto+, a car-buying aid scheme. Another 33.1% have never heard of it, while 24.8% do not know exactly what it offers. That lack of knowledge limits the financial help buyers can get, the study says.
