Electricity bill could reach €106.57 in September
A typical customer on the regulated electricity tariff could face a €106.57 bill this September if prices from the first half of the month hold. Consumer group Facua Consumers in Action published the estimate in Madrid on 16 September. It would be the highest September bill since 2022, when the comparable figure reached €137.93.
The estimate covers the Precio Voluntario para el Pequeño Consumidor (PVPC), the regulated tariff for small consumers. Facua’s model customer has 4.4 kW of contracted power and uses 366 kWh a month.
The projected bill is 30.5% above the figure for the first half of September 2025, when a full-month estimate came to €81.49. It is also 10.3% higher than August's €96.65 bill, already the costliest month of the year.
Bills for Facua’s average customer have risen each month since May: €75.63 in May, €79.08 in June, €93.65 in July and €96.65 in August.
During the first half of September, consumed electricity averaged 30.36 cents per kWh in the peak period, 20.96 cents in the standard period and 24.22 cents in the valley period, with indirect taxes included.
Facua again called on the Government for major changes to electricity-market rules. It wants nuclear and hydroelectric power removed from the daily auction and paid at a government-set price reviewed every few months.
