A car park in Son Rossinyol, Palma, with room for more than 500 vehicles is due to close without a replacement, PSOE Palma says. The party raised the alarm on 4 September over plans for a new EMT depot in the industrial estate.

According to the PSOE, the basic project for the new EMT operations centre includes no parking for workers or people visiting shops in Son Rossinyol. The party says it warned a year ago that the existing car park would shut with no alternative.

PSOE spokesperson at Palma City Hall Francesc Dalmau said Mayor Jaime Martínez had promised a car park in the area, but that it has not been included in the project. Dalmau also said work had been promised for 2025, yet nothing has started.

The PSOE says no other parking spaces have been provided, while EMT services 11 and 12 to the industrial estate have not become more frequent. Bicipalma has not been expanded either, Dalmau said, calling the situation an absolute absurdity.
