Mallorca: English intrigue comedy opens for eight euros

Responsible for this content: Frank Menze

An English-language comedy of intrigue opens in Calvià, Mallorca, on Saturday, 14 November: ‘Margarita never answers’ starts at 19.00 in Sala Palmanova. Tickets cost eight euros plus booking fees and are available through notikumi.com.

A famous woman, a servant who lies and a journalist asking the wrong questions drive the plot. Kathleen Bendelack, a British theatre-maker based on Mallorca, wrote and directs the play and also appears in it. She founded the Petite Production Company and has brought earlier work to Calvià, including ‘Playing Dickens’ in 2025.

The Calvià council says the production is part of its effort to bring public cultural events to the municipality’s English-speaking community. More than 4,000 British and Irish people live in Calvià, out of a population of more than 53,000. The council says Bendelack’s shows are accessible to people with intermediate English.
