Mallorca’s EspaiSalut app: access row sparks pledge
Mallorca’s EspaiSalut health app faces complaints about access: Health Minister Manuela García promises to tackle the digital barriers that could leave people unable to use it. At a sitting of the Balearic Parliament in Palma, Mallorca, on 13 October 2026, she responds to concerns raised by Socialist MP Patricia Gómez.
Gómez calls the app “a disaster”. She says problems getting in are made worse by a reduction in the number of people available to help by phone. García says EspaiSalut will give the public health service a way to keep in touch with patients.
The minister says her department will collect suggestions from healthcare staff and patients, assess them and put them into practice as the app develops. She gives no timetable.
