Two more years representing Spain’s accommodation sector in Europe: Ramón Estalella wins re-election to HOTREC’s executive committee in Vilnius, Lithuania, on Tuesday, 13 October. The vote takes place at the European hospitality association’s 93rd general assembly, according to the Spanish Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation (CEHAT), where Estalella is secretary general.

His new term lets him put the Spanish sector’s views to European institutions and follow proposed European laws as they are brought into national and regional rules. Estalella says the role gives him a chance to take part in decisions that affect the competitiveness of hospitality businesses across Europe.

He has served on HOTREC’s executive committee for 14 years. The association brings together national hotel, restaurant and café organisations. Estalella has been CEHAT’s secretary general since it was founded in 2004 and also teaches tourism and hotel management at university.
