Mallorca Socialists put Estrades in charge at Puigpunyent

Miquel Joaquín Estrades is leading the Socialists’ new local executive committee in Puigpunyent, Mallorca, after the group renewed its leadership on 27 August 2026. Marc Simó takes the organisation role as the party sets its sights on 2027.

The new team says it wants to strengthen its work in the municipality, bring more people into the group and work more closely with local people. Antoni Marí takes responsibility for municipal policy, while Aina Matas will oversee social services and equality.

Estrades said the committee had the drive and willingness to work for Puigpunyent. Its plan, he said, is to be more visible locally, listen to people and develop proposals that are useful for the town.

Amanda Fernández, general secretary of the Socialist Federation of Mallorca, attended the assembly and backed the incoming team. She said strong local groups matter to the Socialist project in each Mallorca municipality. Ares Fernández, the federation’s organisation secretary, and Malena Riudavets, the PSIB-PSOE secretary for employment and the social economy, also attended.
