Mallorca project among three chasing Europe final

A Mallorca plan to create a sustainable virtual filming location is among three Balearic projects seeking a place in the final of the national #EuropaSeSiente2026 competition. Voting opened on Monday, 14 September, and closes at 23.59 on 27 September. The other entries cover emergency communications for island residents and mechanics training for vulnerable young people.

Voters must go to the competition website, watch videos from the semi-finalists and select the projects they want to support. They do not have to vote in every category.

The projects that win the most backing will go through to the final in Alcoy, Alicante, in November, during the annual event on European funds.

IB Digital is behind the emergency communications proposal, which aims to provide safe and effective contact with people across the islands in an emergency. It is funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

PalmaActiva’s entry, Motores de futuro, gives vulnerable young people mechanics training. It was developed through a call by the Balearic Employment Service, SOIB, with money from the European Social Fund Plus.

The Mallorca virtual filming project was developed by the Mallorca Tourism Foundation and is funded through the Recovery and Resilience Facility.

The competition is organised by the General Secretariat for European Funds at Spain’s Ministry of Finance. It highlights European Union-funded projects intended to change regions and improve people’s lives.
