Mallorca: Man jailed for killing ex with baby in car
On Mallorca, a man gets 25 years and three months in prison for stabbing his ex-partner to death with up to 66 blows while their baby sits in the back of a car on a road in Can Pastilla, Palma. The provincial court’s sentence is reported on 31 October 2026, three weeks after a jury found him guilty of the murder on 10 December 2024.
He and his ex-partner were driving to collect their daughter from nursery, despite a protection order against him. The jury found that he suddenly pulled a knife from his clothing and attacked her intending to kill her. She died within minutes.
He kept driving with her body in the car, then caused a crash that also injured the baby. Police arrested him shortly afterwards. The jury found that he killed his ex-partner because she was a woman and in the context of his dominance over her.
The court imposed 23 years and six months for murder, another year for breaching the protection order and nine months for injuries within the family.
